Friday 7th November 2008 - Hallerween Charity Lunch

The Vine Sevenoaks - Fancy dress optional! (witches hats??) - Black and orange theme.

All monies raised from this event will go towards a child vaccination programme and our continued crusade to supply sanitary towels. This event is being organised by Rebecca Eifion-Jones.

 

Tuesday 2nd December - Kenyan Bazaar & Cake Sale at Holmewood House School

Homemade cakes will be on sale as well as an opportunity for children to decorate their own cakes and biscuits.  Produce made in Kenya (bought during our trip to Kenya in November) will also be for sale as well as notelets and cards showing the wonderful photos taken by Rebecca Eifion-Jones.  Eco-bags will also be on sale with the Holmewood House logo.  All proceeds will go towards equipping our Health Centre.

12 October 2008 - James Woodthorpe ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon!

James Woodthorpe ran the Royal Parks Half Marathon (which follows a route through Hyde Park, St. James' Park, Green Park and along the Embankment) in London on Sunday, 12th October and raised £655 for Haller.  As a veteran of 46 he managed to come in at 1 hr 46 mins without too many injuries but is still complaining about his aches and pains!  Well done!

2nd October 2008 - Art Exhibition (Private Viewing)

Haller hosted a private viewing on the 3rd October of the first art exhibition of two up and coming local Tunbridge Wells artists, Richard Legg and Jacob Woods-Maher.  their work emcompasses a wide range of styles and a combination of techniques resulting in their distinctive style.

Both Richard and Jake have kindly agreed that 10% of any sale or commission will go towards Haller's new IT centre in Mombasa.   

 

Wednesday 24th September: Captain Tortue and Miss Captain sale

10% of the proceeds will go towards Haller's new IT centre in Mombasa, Kenya. Great childrens clothing and ladieswear. This will be held at Kate Woodthorpe's home. For more information please email Kate directly at kate@thehallerfoundation.com

At Hotel-Du-Vin, Tunbridge Wells. Racing and betting took place during lunch. There was a silent auction and raffle, as well as betting. All monies raised will go towards building a water well, pump and generator for the clinic and education centre, to enable them to have water all year.  See Haller News for more information and photos.

 

 

 

 

Friday 6th June 2008- Bulldozer Night - Organised by Friends of Haller, a fundraising night at The Loop Bar in London to raise money for a Bulldozer.  For more details email: athina-elizabeth-niduk@hotmail.co.uk

 

1282642-1655366-thumbnail.jpgMonday 2nd - Thursday 5th June 2008 - Africa Week at Holmewood House School  Workshops including art/craft, horticulture, music and dancing with the whole of Pre-Prep children participating.  Joyce from Mombasa was flown in, courtesy of British Airways, to help as well as other staff from Haller UK.  Parents were invited on Thursday to see the children's work and listen to a presentation on The Haller Foundation. May 16th 2008 - Flower Demonstration
by Nancy Ursell of Bloomingperfect. Nancy demonstrated a hand-tied bouquet and table centrepiece. All monies raised will go towards a new community nursery and health clinic. Thank you to all those ladies that supported this event, and a big thank you to Louise and everyone who contributed such wonderful canapes and sweet treats!
