Ascot Ladies Luncheon raises money for Haller Water

The third annual bespoke Ascot Ladies Luncheon organised by Mrs. Rebecca Eifion-Jones at Hotel du Vin in support of The Haller Foundation was a tremendous success.

Over 70 ladies sat down in their Ascot hats to an afternoon of food, betting, auctions and raffles!

All donations and money raised will be used to provide running water into our Health Clinic and Education Centre.

The Haller Foundation is grateful to Mrs. Eifion-Jones for her invaluable support, and to the Ascot Ladies for coming every year to support The Haller Foundation.

The Funding Network in partnership with CAF pledge over £7,000 for Biogas for Light & Cooking!

Members of The Funding Network in partnership with the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) pledged on Saturday April 19th, just over £7,000 towards courses designed to teach rural small-holder farmers to create biogas for light and cooking.

ComputerAid International have donated 15 computers to The Haller Foundation's Education Centre enabling us to run computer workshops and training to over 2000 children from more than 30 schools who use the Centre

We have just teamed up with Nigel Stengard-Green who has just released a book titled "The Spring Lunchbox" - a great book for busy parents who wish to give their children something interesting, tasty and nutritious for lunch. 30 Recipes which are designed to be ready in 15 to 20 minutes or can be pre-prepared. He also sells great lunch boxes and hot food/drinks containers. From every book sold, 20% of the cover price - not the profit - will go to The Haller Foundation. Our work has interesting synergies with Earth's Hope set up by John D Liu. His vision is to bring practioners together from around the world to understand and collaberate about integrated poverty eradication and large scale ecosystem rehabilitation. Using the Loess plateau in China ( an area the size of France ) they demonstrate how in 10 years it is possible to transform an area which was described as the most desolate place on earth into one which has been returned into a living ecocystem and who's inhabitants have experienced between 4 and 10 times per capita growth

Kenya Communities Resolve to carry on despite Electoral Violence

Everyone at the Haller Foundation is saddened to hear about the electoral violence that has erupted in Kenya over the past few weeks. It has been a challenging time for our local partner, The Baobab Trust, our staff on the ground and some of the communities we work with who have been affected.

We have been in regular contact with our local partner since the violence erupted and are pleased to report that the communities we work with have resolved to carry on with their projects which guarantee them independence from aid. We do not expect any significant impact to any of the projects that are currently underway.
